LITTLE GIRL WITH AN UMBRELLA – A ‘silly’ verse for kids and ageing juveniles!

Image

Little girl with an umbrella,

Stern look upon her face,

Trundles on towards her school,

At just a snails pace.

Little girl with an umbrella,

Her mother’s seeing red,

Her dad left home this morning,

And now her dog is dead.

Little girl with an umbrella,

Tears and raindrops steady beat,

Little girl with an umbrella,

You’ve got the world still at your feet.

    1. Cheers – only wrote it because it’s pouring with rain here (has been all day) and this morning I spotted a little girl walking past the house off to school looking as miserable as sin!

    1. ‘Twas the kid looking so pissed off outside our house today in the pouring rain they got me write this one. A bit the slushy for my taste normally yet maybe worthwhile as a muse as to whether or not it was the rain – our weather people on TV and radio are blaming it on Canada – or something stereotypical that took the poor kid to the misery she exuded!

      1. Don’t underestimate the power of simplicity. I think it works very well here, especially because it’s about a little girl. Quite often the right words are also the easiest. This poem is a fine example of that theory (which I just made up)…
