MAGIC TREE – A ‘silly’ verse for kids and ageing juveniles!

Image

The only living sound I heard,

Was the shrill sound of the Mynah bird,

The only living thing a saw,

Was the blackness of an old Jackdaw

Yet nearby in the woods from me,

I’m told there is a magic tree,

They say she roves around at night,

Her roots hitched up, and feeling right

Where she wanders, no one knows,

T’is as if she simply comes and goes,

However, of one thing you can be sure,

At first light she’s rooted to the floor

No person has actually seen her move,

And to ask would be I think quite rude,

But I wonder what those old birds saw,

That Mynah bird and old Jackdaw
