THE DAY I LAUGHED AT MYSELF

Image

The day I laughed at myself

Was the day I nailed hypocrisy

To the wall

Of the museum of obstacles

Consigned to oblivion

No more a traitor

To my immaculate dreams

My inglorious desires

The day I laughed at myself

Was the best day of my life

    1. True – I once repossessed a Rolls Royce from a miscreant. It broke down on the motorway and just about every passing driver took the piss. Being laughed ‘at’ that day was, in short, bloody awful. There was me trying to make out it was mine and all that!

  1. Very inspiring words…Funny how some poems need no more than a few lines to hammer a point home. It works great here. I think you convey a truth a lot of people know, but most tend to forget. This poem should be sent to all world leaders as a memo!
