The lemon glass vase

An empty vessel

In a houseful of fiction

Books imprisoned in trunks

Above and behind

An unlocked loft door

Not knowing what fate

Awaits them

Such bounty unclaimed

Vitriol and venom

The rapier tongue

Cuts to the quick

Severs the jugular

Suited and booted

I take of my leave

Once there was a lemon vase

It is nowhere to be found

A recurring nightmare then and now still haunts for reasons unknown
